Third-Party Testing

Independent Analytical Testing

At Prime Biochem Labs, every research peptide is subject to independent third-party analytical testing before it reaches the researcher. This process provides an additional layer of quality verification beyond internal quality control, ensuring that the materials you receive meet the standards required for reliable laboratory research.

How Research Peptides Are Tested

Identity Confirmation via Mass Spectrometry (MS)

Mass spectrometry is used to confirm the molecular identity of each peptide. By measuring the mass-to-charge ratio of ionized molecules, MS verifies that the peptide's molecular weight matches the theoretical value for the target sequence. This confirms that the correct peptide was synthesized and that no significant structural errors are present.

Purity Analysis via High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

HPLC is the industry-standard method for measuring peptide purity. A sample is passed through a chromatography column under high pressure, separating the target peptide from any impurities, truncated sequences, or synthesis byproducts. The resulting chromatogram shows the relative abundance of each component, allowing the laboratory to calculate a purity percentage. Research-grade peptides are typically held to a purity threshold of ≥98%, ensuring that the active compound constitutes the vast majority of the material.

Certificates of Analysis (COA)

Each batch of peptides is accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) issued by the independent testing laboratory. A COA typically includes:

  • Product name and batch number
  • Molecular weight confirmation from MS data
  • Purity percentage from HPLC analysis
  • Testing date and laboratory identification

COAs allow researchers to verify the quality of each specific batch they receive, rather than relying on general product specifications.

Why Independent Testing Matters

Third-party testing means the analytical work is performed by a laboratory that is separate from the manufacturer. This separation is important because it removes any conflict of interest from the quality verification process. Independent laboratories have no incentive to report results other than what the analysis shows, providing an objective assessment of each product.

At Prime Biochem Labs, we provide third-party analytical reports where applicable so that researchers can make informed decisions about the materials they use in their studies.

All products are intended for laboratory research use only. Not for human consumption, therapeutic use, or clinical application.
